To provide a quiet place on Siquijor’s shore where silence and nature guide our journey inward. Ten years in the making, the Callachuchi Hermitage will be open for participants and residents in September 2026.

Our Purpose

Retreats

Periodically the Hermitage will be open to those desiring to participate in silent retreat while following the schedule of the hermitage. This includes instruction in the practices used at the hermitage to promote more awareness and participation in each moment. Please communicate with us if you are interested.

Please Note

No electronics or reading materials are allowed during retreat at Callachuchi Hermitage. This includes phones, cameras, computers, radios, tablets, tvs, tape recorders and the like; as well as books, magazines, kindles, and the like. In a silent retreat, we ask each participant to respect the space and privacy of other participants. Occasionally conversation is necessary, but the intent is that the retreat's primary emphasis is on awareness and listening to both your internal and external worlds. Having several days of this practice allows you to clear out your mind/body and discover a deeper relationship within yourself and the world around you.

Daily Schedule

Our intention is to approach all activities through the waking day with the intent of grounded presence. Specifically how you fill each space of time in the day is up to your individual practices and interests.

2 - 4 a.m. Meditation, Prayer, Walking, Qi Gong, Yoga and the like

4 - 6 a.m. Writing

6 - 8 a.m. Breakfast and Chores

8 - 10 a.m. Exercise (snorkeling, running,....)

10 - Noon. Free time

Noon Lunch

2 - 4 p.m. Work

4 - 6 p.m. Arts

6 - 7 p.m. Light Dinner

7 - 9 p.m. Meditation, Prayer, Walking, Qi Gong, Yoga and the like

9 p.m. Rest

Retreat Rates

It is recommended to participate in a silent retreat at the hermitage for a minimum of three days. Cost per day is 5000 pesos. Please pay in cash at the beginning of your retreat. Cost covers lodging, food and instruction. Contact the hermitage to schedule a visit.
